Toshiba Thrive with Google’s Android ‘Honeycomb’ 3.1

There are many different tablets that get talked about on a regular basis running all sorts of different platforms. However, under the hype surrounding any of these given platforms they are largely the same despite featuring varying hardware specs. Google is without a doubt one of the biggest software companies in the world largely thanks to their Android mobile platform. Toshiba has been known to be coming out with a tablet for quite some time but up until now we’ve yet to seer any such thing. However, there were some rumors circulating not too long ago that Toshiba’s debut Honeycomb tablet would in fact be called the Thrive. This rumor was backed up with several early listings for the tablet and today has been made official by the company.

This device features a 10.1-inch display alongside an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 5 megapixel rear facing camera, 2 megapixel front facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB, HDMI and an SD slot. While we’ve heard glimpses of these specs in the past we’ve finally been able to pinpoint not only an official release date (July) but official price points as well. The Toshiba Thrive will come with 3 different storage capacities with the 8GB model starting at $429, the 16GB model at $479 and the 32GB model at $579. On a software note the Thrive, of course, runs Google’s Android ‘Honeycomb’ 3.1.

  • 2 megapixel front facing camera,
