IDC: Nook Color Leading E-Reader Sales for First Time Ever, As Tablets Lag

As is known to all,Kindle’s sales are suffering these days because of  Amazon’s lack of a color offering, and also owing to at least the passage from a new e-reader report which was released this afternoon. The Barnes & Noble (NYSE: BKS) Nook have two defferent versions- both color and black-and-white versions, now guides e-reader sales for the first time, according to a latest research from IDC.

In the view of some experts,Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN)had better speed up and put its color tablet into market that has been long rumored. The buyers are there: e-reader sales grew by the percentage of 105  very year, according to the data released by the IDC . The company predicts that the  e-reader market all around the world will put 16.2 million units in 2011 that is almost an increase of  24 percent  over 2010, and still a conservative estimate when compared with recent Pew and eMarketer reports.

What’s more,3.3 million e-readers were shipped into the first quarter of the year of 2011,according to IDC .And its data is based on numbers shipped. However,Amazon and Barnes & Noble do not launch e-reader sales numbers until now.

Meanwhile, IDC says, tablet sales are on the decline, even for the iPad which is out of our imagination. Analysts released several days ago that  iPad shipments for the first quarter were ”much below expectations,” which could have had to do with the iPad 2 being announced several weeks before it was actually come to our usage. That’s regardless of main expansion beyond the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) stores to big-box retailers. Tablets from mobile phone companies like Samsung and Motorola (NYSE: MMI) encountered challenges based on consumers’ unwillingness to sign up for the 3G plans often ordered by those carriers.

However, Android-based tablets grew to 34 percent of the total, which is an increase of about 8 percent over the previous quarter. And IDC expects that, in total, 53 million tablets will ship this year.
