20 Sep 11 CyanogenMod 7 Adds Accelerometer,WiFi & Android Market to HP Touchpad

Ever since HP lowered down the price of its first touchpad all the way to $99, the device has been quite in vogue on the market. Customers all long for the new HP touchpad. While some of them do not show strong interest in this new device. We guess they are looking for something perfect since a lot of manufactures have started to reform their devices. Earlier some time, Team-Touchdroid made it possible for the touchpad to have both Android 2.3.5 and WebOS as its systems. And today news is that CyanogenMod 7 has brought the touchpad to a new level.

The CyanogenMod ream mainly provides aftermarket firmwares based on the Android operating system. Over forty cell phones and tablets are using its products. It offers features not found in the official Android-based firmwares of vendors of these devices, including a reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and much more.

According to the news, the CyanogenMod 7 adds WiFi, Accelerometer, sound as well as access to Android Market to HP Touchpad. The team has put a video on the internet, and from the video we see that CM7 can run on the touchpad quickly. However, the CM7 is now in a testing stage, it still needs to be improved.

Other teams are also working hard to bring more new features to touchpad, especially the Android operating system. But at the moment, Google has not said anything about using Android system on the touchpad. So whether this kind of new touchpad will come to the market is still a question. If touchpad with Android system is available, will it work better than WebOS? We just have to wait and see.
