There is no doubt that Apple’s statement on its iPhone 4 antenna issue has caused offence to more than one phone makers throughout the world. Nokia is the first one to fire back and RIM may be the harshest one for it had said some really hard words on this issue. And the HTC Droid Eris was not immune and HTC now goes into the war. However, this phenomenon was not against the expectation of Apple.

Unlike RIM, HTC hasn’t given a statement on the demo officially. Instead, head of Global PR for HTC- Eric Lin did express some on this issue. When asked how many customers have muttered against the antenna issue, Lin said that there are only about .016% of customers and pointed out that they have had very few consumers to find fauly with signal or antenna problems on the Eris.

It is obvious that all the manufacturers that were involved couldn’t be happy with it but RIM’s reaction seems a little bit too harsh and I’m happy HTC has chose another somewhat mild way to show its disapproval.

It seems it would take a long time before the drama is over, at least not before Apple offers a reasonable fix for the matter. Though it only affects no more than two percent of users, there are still 60,000 unhappy iPhone users since there are 3 million iPhone 4 units that Apple having been sold out over the past three weeks. And Apple still haven’t found a way to get through, offering free cases and bumpers for iPhone 4 users, or refunds for those who already bought a case or bumper won’t last long. God bless Apple.
