As what we have posted here early before about the new WebOS update, the 1.3.5.2 version, the new software is now available in Europe yesterday, the new update does not come with many new features, however, it does add the bluetooth tethering. The new feature is added right after the Palm announced the tethering for WiFi connection on its Pre.
The Palm’s CEO, Jon Rubinstein has recently announced that the cell phone of Palm Pixi Plus is a real phone and currently it is on the way to Verizon. If you still remember that messages on the device were spread throughout the internet last month, if we are lucky enough, we might be able to see the phone at the street at some point in the upcoming future.
If you are interested in another cell phone from the Palm, you can check out the official specs of the Pixi Plus phone here (http://investor.palm.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=436248), where you will find some notable features, such as TouchStone compatibility, WiFi as well as 16GB of internal storage.
Just after the officially announcement of the Palm Pixi Plus cell phone, Palm has again announced something interesting at the CES.
The Palm Pre Plus has something different from the Pre, no Verizon branding and navigation button, but still 16GB of internal storage, the Palm Pre Plus’s back cover still supports TouchStone Charging from the outside of the box when needed.
Currently, there is no word on the price of the Palm Pre Plus cell phone, however, we are told that the device will be available on 25th January. If you like Verizon’s services, then you are able to get another webOS cell phone very soon.

I remember that when the Mifi firstly launched out there on the market, it is treated as a wireless hotspot. Now the Palm Pixi Plus and the Pre Plus cell phones have been officially announced. However, if Palm and Verizon want to make good market share, they really need to do something, which could make these two devices more desirable then its competitors.
What the “something” could be? Now there is a mobile hotspot application which can make the Palm Pixi Plus and Palm Pre Plus into wireless device with the ability to connect up to five devices.
However, currently, there is no word on the price of the application, or the Verizon and Palm will make it for an additional monthly fee, anyway, we will let you informed once it is available.
What we have reported is that the Apple iTunes App Store reaches a three billion downloads milestone. But for the Palm App catalog, the online store has just broken the 1,000 apps. In order to fight against Apple App Store, Palm has officially announced that the company is going to hold a Hot App giveaway at the CES. From the hot app giveaway, application developers are able to compete for up to ten million dollars.
Currently, we do not know much about the Palm’s giveaway, however, what we do know is that the company will give the money to the developers who get the highest application download count.

Since the Palm Pre may not that successful in the volume, we still can put our hope on the Palm Pixi phone. The Pixi is becoming neat on the internet with a black color scheme. Both the Sprint and the Palm says nothing on when the Pixi will be available in another color.
And today, an anonymous resource shows us a screenshot of Sprint database, you can check the image here, scanning the screenshot, we can find a pink Palm Pixi cell phone.
Is that true? Are the Palm and Sprint going to launch a pink Pixi phone? Anyway, since the CES is upcoming next week, we should know the confirmation very soon.

Checking out the application market, we all know that Apple’s iTunes App Store is definitely the No.1. And now we have some message about its competitor’s application store. According to a recently report, the Palm Pre app catalog has just reached 1,000 number, yes, that is just a fraction of the Apple iTunes’s. But it does a great milestone for Palm.
The 1,000 application number is only 1% of Apple’s, however, as we all know that the Pre app catalog was available in June last year, so six months for 1,000 apps, that is a good start, I do believe that more and more people will download application from Pre catalog as more and more apps will be released by developers.

As we all know that the Palm Pre was official since June in 2009.And you may still remember that the Verizon has said that the company is going to pick up the Pre not long after.
Now, some rumors out there say that the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi are going to be debuted on Verizon as webOS handsets. However, both the Palm and Verizon did not say any official about these two phones.
We guys,it is another weekend, and we just have a great new for you.According to a report from Gizmodo,Palm has recently launched an in-browser app development client. It may not anything meaningful if you are not interested in developing webOS based software for Palm phones, however, for developers, that is really a great news.
The best advantage of this new software is that developers can create new applications for webOS in their web browser, you can get a general idea by check the screen shot here.I am interested in this, however,I did not try the application develop software at this moment,if it is really the same as Palm intention, developers can have another way to create webOS application and Palm handsets’ users can have more and more software available for their Pixi or Pre.
What do you think guys? Will apple launch an in-browser application develop software?Let’s wait and see.

Back to June,we highly expect that the Palm Pre smartphone could be one of the best competitor to Apple iPhone, however, five months passed since the officially release,we did not see the Palm Pre beat iPhone.
And today, the Pre has a new problem. Some Pre customers reported that they can not use the backup data well. They just are unable to restore the data from a backup. The company has noticed this issue and given a clear announcement as follows:
The company feels sorry for the issues,Palm has noticed that some customer are unable to transfer their backup data to another webOS device. In order to make customers transfer the data successfully to a new webOS device,Sprint and Palm are now working closely on the issues.
Anyway,if you find the same issue on your Pre,you are highly recommend to contact a representative from Sprint.
