Barnes & Noble, Inc. is the largest book retailer in the United States, operating mainly through its Barnes & Noble Booksellers chain of bookstores headquartered in 122 5th Avenue in lower Fifth Avenue in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The company is known for large, upscale retail outlets, many of which contain a café serving Starbucks Coffee, and for competitive discounting of bestsellers. Video games and related items were sold in the company’s GameStop retail outlets until October 2004, when the division was spun off into an independent company. Barnes & Noble is also known for selling the Barnes & Noble Nook.

Barnes & Noble who once started out as not much more than a book retailer has been making quite the name for themselves in the mobile industry. Starting out with their Nook eBook reader powered by Google’s Android they quickly expanded their operations to include the Nook Color which is essentially a full fledged Android powered tablet minus the cameras.

not long after telling you that Barnes & Noble had taken their remaining Nook stock to eBay the company has come forth today to officially announce their next generation eBook reader. Barnes & Noble also has a sort of hybrid device dubbed the Nook Color which is essentially a dedicated eBook reader that’s also a tablet. If you’re not familiar with this device it features a 7-inch display, 800MHz processor, runs Google’s Android and costs just $250 – need I say more?

As if you needed another reason to buy the device Barnes & Noble has just announced that they will be running quite the deal in an effort to grab some new customers. By quite the deal I mean they are giving away 30 (yes, 30) free eBooks with the purchase of the $250 Nook Color

Assuming books are priced at $9.99 a piece, this quite literally means Barnes & Noble will be giving new Nook Color owners a library of books worth more than the device itself.

Barnes & Noble is one of my favorite eBook brand, its Nook eBook reader is a great machine, which was firstly designed to compete Amazon’s kindle, and now the Nook evolves into a completely Android Powered machine.The Nook eBook reader has several apps for different platforms, and as a Google Android powered machine, the device also has app for Google’s Android OS.

Much like Amazon’s Kindle application, Nook app comes up with lots of features, it allows consumers to choose eBooks, download them and read them on any kinds of device they need.Have, Barnes & Noble does not want to stop here, today, they company announced that they are going to have an updated version of Nook Application, the new software comes up with several new features as well as new improvements.The new updates allow consumers to view their whole eBook library, a book download progress bar as well as a wish list.Needless to say, the improvements of the Nook Application could make the Nook Application more useful.

Along with the announcement of updated Nook Application,Barnes & Noble says there is a new version of Nook Android app for Android honey comb.However, there is no words on the release date of the software.And we shall keep you updated when there is further information available.
